NFL -- Injury Report ... Pro Bowl Week?

Here they are … the players who got banged up a little (or a lot) during last week’s games. Frank Mazzola leads you through the minefield of who may still be able to play, who may need to be benched and who you may just want to send a “Get Well” card to and cut from your fantasy roster altogether.

Minnesota

Cedric Griffin, CB (knee) -- Griffin was the weekend’s biggest casualty as he tore the ACL in his left knee during overtime against the Saints. There’s a definite chance that he could start the season on the physically unable to perform list, which would mean that he couldn’t play until Week 7. His absence wouldn’t impact the Vikings’ team defense tremendously, but Griffin is a fairly valuable IDP option.

Antoine Winfield, CB (foot) -- Winfield aggravated the foot injury that he has been dealing with for much of the year on Sunday. It has not yet been determined whether he’ll need surgery, but he’ll be fine for next year.

New York Jets

Donald Strickland, CB (groin) -- Strickland tore his groin muscle during Sunday’s loss to the Colts. There’s no word yet on the severity of the injury but, then again, there’s no real guarantee he’ll be on the Jets next season, anyway, so don’t lose sleep worrying about it.

Shonn Greene, RB (ribs) -- Greene was forced to leave Sunday’s game against the Colts during the third quarter after suffering an injury to his ribs. He was unable to return to the game, and the Jets were unable to run the ball effectively in his absence. He’ll be fine for next year. Look for him to shoot up draft boards based on his excellent post-season performance.
